One-Way Clutch Bearings

One-way clutch bearings, also known as overrunning clutches or freewheeling bearings, are specialized mechanical components designed to allow rotation in only one direction while preventing it in the opposite direction. These bearings utilize rollers, pawls, or sprags that engage with the raceway to transmit torque when rotating in the desired direction. When the rotation reverses, the rollers disengage or lock, ensuring that the system doesn’t operate in the opposite direction.
